Compared to other styles, the Updraft Sport is quite comfortable though not for a hiking adventure or long walks.

Great product & service, however do not understand why these shipped seperately to original order (which is still yet to arrive?).

Long time owner of original Z1 Chaco's. A year ago I bought a pair of Unaweep's and now just got these Updraft's. So, guess that makes me a Chaco uber-fan. The updated classic (new footbed and tread) is now called the Yampa and it's still a super quality ergo sandal. The Unaweep has a meatier tread that works well if you are a serious sandal trail hiker or year-round sandal guy (take note IT professionals!). Now these Updraft's are light weight version, which is nice for around house, around town. Even though the footbed has not worn in at all yet, they are already comfortable and I expect this to get better as Chaco's do adapt to your foot. Note that most Chaco's have a good instep for average to high arch, but maybe not so good for flat feet (unless you can adapt - they can help to prevent getting worse flat feet). Bottom line is Chaco's are built to last and once you get the continuous strap adjusted to your foot, there is no messing with velcro.... they slip on quickly and tighten with one pull. Light weight Updraft's are great out of the box and we'll see if they hold up as well as the classics.

Bought these for my son from Sierra Trading and got an amazing deal. He loves them! They have so much arch support, are very comfortable and rugged but lightweight. Chacos are the best!

I prefer this style without the toe-strap due to the way I walk - I walk more on my toes and the ball of my feet, and the toe-strap would tighten over time. With these I don't have that problem. They seem to fit a bit large, but the only slight problem is that the arch isn't perfectly aligned with my natural arch. We'll see how they break in if it's a problem for me.

The rear strap is fastened to the sole via plastic (not fabric), which makes a very uncomfortable pressure point. I returned, and went with the fabric-only straping common on other models.

I have had a pair of original chacos for about 5 years and they are still in decent condition, but I wanted to check out the new design which boasts 20% reduction in weight! That's a lot of weight for a shoe/sandal, and you can feel the difference! I will probably not wear my old chacos anymore. I had a 12 in my old pair so I ordered that size for the Updraft, but they were too narrow for me. I exchanged the 12 for a 12 Wide and they fit pretty well (as well as my old chacos). My only complaint about any chacos I have worn is that after extended uninterrupted use (4-8 hours on your feet) your gonna get some chafes or blisters, but your feet get calluses if you wear them frequently. One thing to note about the undraft, the joints where the heel strap connects to the main straps has a rubber piece where the old sandals had just a strap. Its a bit extra chafing from that rubber, but overall these are great for rainy days or watersports.

Great sandal! The sole is good and all the straps can be adjusted however you want them to be.

Much lighter and much less chunkier than the T1 or T2 chacos, and much smoother on your feet. Big fan.

These chacos are lighter than other models I have owned. They are still comfy and perform well. They did take a while to break in.
